What fun summer plans do you and your family have this year? While you may have a trip planned, it’s likely that you’ll also have a lot of time at home, which is why a list of summer activities for kids comes in handy to help you keep the kids busy while home from school. Regardless of what activities you and the family decide to do this summer, protecting your skin is something you definitely want to remember – especially if you’re out in the sun a lot.

Eucerin suggests that you incorporate activities you can do in the shade this summer, to help balance out the amount of sun exposure and help keep your skin healthy. They sent my family a summer fun kit with ideas for having fun at home, including bubbles and one of our favorites: sidewalk chalk! You can see my girl had a blast creating sidewalk art, something she can do in the shaded area of our driveway or later in the day when the sun is not as intense.

The kit also included a jar with ideas for summer fun – dress up, build a blanket fort, and tell ghost stories are a few of the activities we think sound fun, but you can fill your own summer activity jar with various ideas that your family loves! If your activity is an outside activity, then Eucerin’s tips include wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes and applying sunscreen 15 minutes beforehand.

    I’m home with the kids this summer trying to stay busy with indoor and outdoor activities. My daughter is a red-head, so we are especially careful with her delicate skin. She’s a freckle pot for sure! lol We are going to the zoo a lot, walking our dog and playing with her at the dog park, feeding the ducks at a nearby city park, visiting the pool, and shooting baskets at the school playground. We ALWAYS use sunscreen on our kids. My husband and I aren’t as good about taking care of our own skin though! We need to work on that. Thanks so much for a great giveaway! 😀

    Our summer plan – I’m thinking of getting my boys a pool for the back porch so we can enjoy something cooling since we have no A/C, and since it will be on the back porch we will stay totally out of the sun really 🙂

    We will be having fun in Myrtle Beach, SC this summer. I will spend most of my time under the umbrella reading a book. When I’m not under the umbrella I will be wearing a had and sunscreen to protect my skin.

    To protect myself from the sun i plan to wear a long dress as il be staying more time outdoors. While sunscreen is effective in preventing sunburn, clothing does an even better job of blocking the sun. And to protect my soft and vulnerable facial skin i would be wearing a wide-brim hat or visor, which can offer better protection than sunglasses.

    We farm, and I am a very pale girl, so sunscreen is a MUST for me. Hubby has also finally decided (after his dad was diagnosed with skin cancer) that maybe he should take better care of his skin too. He now has wide brimmed hats, shirts with collars (as opposed to t’s) and he uses SPF 50!

    By spending our weekends on a softball field watching our daughter play ball. We spent 26 of 48 hours this weekend on a softball field and had a blast. We use a ton of sunblock to get us through these weekends. I don’t want my girls to burn while they are playing. Thank you!

    I’m having fun with the first veggie garden I’ve had in years. Everyday is something new. Sadly every trip in the garden causes skin irritation from all sources including bugs and dirt and sun. My skin is very sensitive and I’m searching for help!
