Oh boy! Did you know Halloween is just around the corner? It sure is, and all I have out for Halloween decorations in my house are these cute ghost mason jar lanterns that I made this week. Yikes! Unpacking after a move can sure take long. I definitely need to find the boxes that hold all of our Halloween decor. In the meantime though, let me show you how easy it is to make these cute Halloween ghost lanterns! You and the kids will have a lot of fun creating this easy Halloween craft and it’s sure to add a bit of fun to your Halloween decor.
DIY Halloween Ghost Mason Jar Lanterns {Kids Craft}
Materials Needed:
- 3 (or more) wide mouth mason jars without the lids
- white and black acrylic paints
- black and white washi tape
- paintbrushes
You can purchase all of these materials at Walmart and will find a lot of inspiration in their Halloween section for decorating your house and dressing up this Halloween!
How to Make Halloween Ghost Mason Jar Lanterns:
- Begin by painting the outside of all three mason jars with the white acrylic paint. Let the paint dry and then apply a second coat. Let it dry again.
- Once the second coat of paint is completely dry, with a pencil, draw each face on the mason jars. Let the kids create their own Halloween ghost face!
- Then, using the black acrylic paint, paint the faces you and the kids drew.
- Finally, add the washi tape around the top of the mason jars.
Once again, let your mason jars dry completely. When they are dry, insert a votive candle in each lantern, light, and enjoy.
Boo! Enjoy your new Halloween Ghost Lanterns!
