Though most of your children head back to school this week, my baby girl (she still likes being called that at 8 years old!) has already completed two full weeks of school! I find that as she enters the latter years of elementary school, more of a personality is shining through and she truly wants to express her individual style with her clothes. One of the more evident characteristics of my baby girl is her humor; you will often find her sharing jokes and making her friends laugh. It’s no surprise then, that graphic tees call her attention – the girl appreciates a good pun and loves tees that are humorous in nature. We rounded out our back to school shopping this year with a trip to our local Walmart and were pleasantly surprised at their selection of girls’ graphic tees! Check out a couple of the shirts my daughter picked out, plus a few coordinating accessories she chose, all under $5!
Girls’ Graphic Tees & Accessories Under $5
The back wall in the girls’ department at our Walmart had plenty of cute graphic tees starting at $4, so my baby girl had lots to choose from! She wanted this Wake Up, Be Awesome tee [aff], but her size was unavailable. Out of the tees available in her size, she ended up choosing a tee with a picture of a taco that reads, “I don’t wanna [taco] bout it!” [aff] and a Hanes tee with glittery skulls (in a Day of the Dead style). Both tees were right under $5, with the Hanes tee being $4.97 and the Taco tee priced at $4.88.
Instead of choosing more graphic tees, my girl decided to pick out a couple of coordinating accessories. She’s into the current mustache trend these days, so she was excited to find a mustache necklace! She also thought the pair of zipper bracelets were fun and loved that they actually zip and unzip. Each accessory was priced at $3.96, providing my daughter with extra pieces to round out her wardrobe and have a little fun as she styles herself each day for school.
If your children wear uniforms to school and can’t show their individuality with graphic tees during the week, you’ll be glad to know that the uniforms sold on Walmart.com and in select Walmart stores (depends on where you live), are tested and made with kids’ lifestyles in mind. During my visit to the Walmart headquarters in June, my fellow Walmart Moms and I learned that Walmart school uniforms are tested for various stains, wear, and tear. The boys’ polo-style shirts are still not as soft as I would prefer (I let the Walmart apparel folks know this), but the girls’ polo-style shirts are pretty nice. Plus, it’s great that there’s a varied selection of uniforms available, including pants, shorts, dresses, skirts, scooters, and jumpers, all at really affordable prices!
Is your daughter currently into graphic tees? What are some fun girls’ graphic tees and accessories you’ve found while shopping for back to school?
