Every year for Easter, my mom would give me a nice basket filled with hand-picked items she put together. They weren’t extravagant gifts, but her baskets always had a special touch and were very thoughtful. I have picked up on her little tradition and do the same for my children. Honestly, she does too! You can imagine that my kids love getting their personalized Easter baskets from both mom and Abuela!
The great thing is that it’s super easy and affordable to put together your own Easter baskets for the kids with the Easter offerings available in Walmart stores! I was able to create fun Easter baskets for my kids for just $15 each – including the baskets! Check out the great Easter items you can find at your local Walmart, plus take a sneak peek at what I included in my kids’ Easter baskets!
Create Your Kids’ Easter Baskets with Walmart Easter Items
You can find plenty of Easter items at Walmart this year, including a variety of willow, bamboo and woodchip baskets ($7.98 each), chalkboard eggs, and plenty of licensed products with your kids’ favorite characters (TMNT, Frozen, Paw Patrol, etc.)! Additionally, be sure to check out these featured items:
- Mystery Flavor Peeps (chicks and bunnies), $1 per pack
- Spraytastic! Egg Decorating Kit, $9.98 – exclusively at Walmart
- Carrot Cake Cookie Sandwich, $2.98 for 4 cookies
- Licensed pails, tin carriers, purses, and boxes, $4.98 each
For my kids’ Easter baskets, I found a great Spider-Man pail for my baby boy (it’s huge!) and a very cute tin pail for my girl. Each was only $4.98 and I love that we can reuse them after Easter to hold toys, school supplies, or even my girl’s lotions and morning routine products. I then filled each of their baskets with a variety of small toys, accessories, and of course, a bit of chocolate. I loved personalizing my kids’ Easter baskets with items I know they’ll each love, and it was great that each basket totaled only $15!
Fun with Peeps!
Peeps are an Easter favorite, so try this year’s Mystery Flavor Peeps and see if your family can guess the flavor! We tried them out in our home and so far our guess is sour apple. Pick up a pack or two (chicks AND bunnies, perhaps?) and let me know if you and your family agree!
