As my oldest grows and nears her 10th birthday, her interests in many things are shifting. It’s rare for her to sit down and watch her once beloved shows on her own, though she humors her 4-year-old brother and watches with him at times. Similarly, family movie nights have evolved from only animated movies to including family-friendly live action films. When we were sent the Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 two-movie pack by Walmart, I knew the kids would enjoy the silly, slap-stick comedy. Check out the fun we had watching Paul Blart Mall Cop (1 & 2), plus the security badge kids craft we made to go with our family movie night!
Paul Blart Mall Cop Movie Night
Our movie night included snacks and pizza, making for a relaxed night in the kitchen and allowing us to enjoy the movies with the kids. The movies are silly-funny, but that works great for kids! There’s also a theme of family looking out for each other and sticking together that is welcomed. Though we may not have laughed at the movie too much, my husband and I did enjoy hearing the giggles and laughter from our no-longer-babies!
Security Guard Badge Craft for Kids
Before we started our family movie night, we sat down for a simple, yet fun, kids craft inspired by the Paul Blart movies. Using a few materials easily found at Walmart, we made security guard badges!
Suggested Materials:
- Foam sheets in chosen colors
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers
- Alphabet stickers
- Cardstock
How to Make a Security Guard Badge {Kids Craft}
- Draw or trace the shape of a badge onto a foam sheet of your chosen color. We found various badge designs with a quick online search.
- Cut out badge and decorate to look like a security guard badge. Let the kids add alphabet stickers or write on the badge with markers. They could also add decorative emblems with cardstock, washi tape, or duct tape!
- To let the kids wear their new security guard badge, you could simply attach some tape, or an adhesive-backed magnet.
Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 releases on Blu-ray and DVD nationwide tomorrow, July 14 and you’ll find an exclusive two-pack including Paul Blart Mall Cop for $24.87 on Walmart.com and in Walmart stores.
