How to Make Shamrock Flowers for St. Patrick’s Day
First, start off filling up a white piece of construction paper with alternating strips of washi tape. You want to use a nice mix of colors and designs to create a varied look.
Next, using our free printable Shamrock Flowers Template (PDF), cut out all the shamrock shapes. Using the template shapes, cut out your shamrock flower pieces from construction paper, or your washi tape strip paper. The idea is to have each size of the shamrock flower in a different color so when they all come together, they create a nice look.
Fold each shamrock “heart” in half vertically to create a crease. Layer and glue your shamrock flower pieces together from biggest (at the bottom) to smallest (at the top), creating a three-layer shamrock flower.
You can mix and match the shamrock flower pieces in a variety of colors. For example, the biggest piece can be green, the middle white, and the smallest can be cut out from the washi tape strips, or you can reverse that combination. You can create whatever combination of colors you like to create your Shamrock Flowers – let your kids have fun with this easy St. Patrick’s Day craft!
