We’ve been in our new home nearly two months and though it’s hard to believe (or not-so-hard if you’ve ever moved and have small children), we’re not all the way organized and settled in. We’ve definitely made progress and the first phase of moving in is complete, but we’re currently in that secondary phase of organizing our items and beginning to decorate. One area that has been neglected so far is our master bathroom, which is a shame. But, as you probably know, we tend to prioritize other areas of the home before giving our own space attention. However, I decided it was time to take action with small steps and wanted to begin by organizing my vanity drawer. A quick trip to my local Walmart helped me find just what I needed to organize my vanity drawer!
Organizing My Bathroom Vanity Drawer
My vanity drawer was holding some loose items such as my hair brush, comb, cotton pads, and face wipes. My makeup was still in a travel case – two separate cases actually: one holding the bulk of my makeup and brushes, the other holding my lighter day-to-day makeup (BB cream and cream blush) that I tend to use for a quick five-minute makeup look. I realized that I should really have those makeup items in my vanity drawer for quick access in the mornings, along with my cleansing cloths for my evening face wash routine.
After browsing the Walmart bathroom accessories section in-store and on my Walmart app, I found this Vanity Organizer by InterDesign ($10.97) that I thought would be good for organizing some of my makeup, brushes, and other items. I liked that it had a few compartments and in different sizes, giving me a variety to work with. It fit perfectly in my vanity drawer and I was able to put my morning makeup items in it, as well as a few other essential beauty items that I need easy access to. It’s a small step towards organizing our master bathroom, but it’s still progress and I can now get to my beauty essentials much easier! Plus, I can save my travel makeup case for just that – traveling!
How do you organize your beauty essentials? Do you tend to separate and organize them by morning and evening beauty routine?
