Recently, our Florida weather has begun to cool down a bit and it’s actually feeling like Fall! That means all the orange, yellow, and brown colors we’ve been seeing everywhere and the bounty of pumpkin-flavored treats are finally making sense. It’s so much easier to get into the spirit of the season when the weather cooperates! Sometimes it helps to bring the season into your home through your decor, which is why this fall harvest floral centerpiece I made is perfect to liven up our space! It is super easy to make (my type of craft) and requires just a few materials. Ready to see how you can add some harvest florals to your home this fall season?
Fall Harvest Floral Centerpiece {Craft}
Materials Needed:
- Small basket
- Dry foam disc or other shapes (depends on shape/space of basket) – For my basket I used 2 1.8″ circles and 1 cylinder
- Artificial flowers, leaves, and fall harvest assortment from your local craft store’s floral section
How to Make a Simple Fall Harvest Floral Centerpiece
First, insert foam discs into your basket, along with any other necessary foam shapes to fill in the extra space. I stacked two dry foam discs on top of each other and also used a cylindrical foam shape vertically next to my foam discs to avoid empty space and be sure everything was secure and tight.
With the dry foam in place, you can begin to add your leaves and flowers. Simply snip off the ends of your flowers and insert into the foam inside your basket. Arrange the flowers and leaves to your liking, alternating colors, shapes, and height of flowers as you insert them, to create a nice arrangement.
When looking for harvest florals, be sure to check both the floral department as well as the seasonal section. I found lovely fall colors in the floral section, but was able to find stems of artificial flowers with gourds and pumpkins in the seasonal section (next to the Thanksgiving decorations) that really added a nice touch to my fall harvest floral centerpiece.
This fall harvest floral centerpiece is simple and easy to make, yet will really stand out and bring a touch of fall to your home. You could store your harvest floral centerpiece to use every fall season or use the basket and flowers for some other purpose.
What type of flowers and colors would you use in your fall harvest floral centerpiece?
