The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida helps families with ill children by providing them with a home away from home through the Ronald McDonald House. With a place to call home that is close to their children’s doctors and hospital, families can worry about one less thing during difficult times and focus on being comfortable and healing. To benefit The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, local chefs from top restaurants and resorts will gather for the Appetite for the Arches gala this Saturday, March 7, showcasing their creativity and creating signature dishes using fresh McDonald’s ingredients.
Held at the Orlando World Center Marriott, the Appetite for the Arches benefit gala allows guests to interact with chefs and sample their unique creations. Participating restaurants at this year’s event include:
- 4 Rivers Smokehouse
- Blue Bird Bake Shop
- Cask & Larder
- Chef’s Table at the Edgewater

We had an opportunity to preview the selection of Appetite for the Arches signature dishes and cocktails, with options like Southern Chicken and Biscuits, Chicken Terrine, and Vodka Lemonade on Tap. The Southern Chicken and Biscuits by John Rivers of 4 Rivers Smokehouse was, in our opinion, the highlight of the menu. Another favorite was the Coca-Cola BBQ Meatballs by Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant, which incorporates McDonald’s steak, hamburger meat, and bacon, for a sweet and savory appetizer. Complementing the various dishes made with McDonald’s ingredients, are the signature cocktails, also using McDonald’s ingredients: the Old-Fashioned, a Bourbon and syrup mix, and the Vodka Lemonade on Tap, a fruity cocktail with fresh strawberries and lemons. Fun food, drinks, and a great cause to support – what better way to enjoy a lovely evening out?
