This year, SeaWorld Orlando has taken a different twist on their annual Latin festival we’ve come to know as “Viva La Música” and has incorporated tastes from around the globe into what is now the Seven Seas Food Festival. Although the festival began on February 11, beginning April 22, these last four weekends will highlight dishes inspired by the flavors of the “Cocina Criolla” in addition to the same great music and live concerts we came to expect from Viva La Música. Let’s take a look at some of the great Latin inspired foods you’ll find at SeaWorld Orlando Seven Seas Food Festival!
SeaWorld Orlando Seven Seas Food Festival Offers Cocina Criolla
Churrasco with chimichurri, lechón, arroz con gandules, perfectly-crunchy giant tostones with mayo-ketchup, pinchos, quesitos, and giant empanadas – is your mouth watering yet? You’ll also find a station dedicated to bacalaítos alone…oh how I miss being able to eat those! Executive Chef Hector Colon has really done an amazing job with these dishes this year.
And for my gluten-free friends, according to one of the employees on the food staff, most items are gluten-free, so we can indulge in the deliciousness like everybody else. Of course, if cross-contamination is a concern, questions about food allergy options can be found in SeaWorld’s Allergen Information section.

The wonderful thing about this menu is that the dishes are available at reasonable prices and the amount of food in a whole plate can easily be split between two people! Sampler plates are also available, which is perfect for one person, especially if you’re like me and like to try a little bit of everything whenever possible. Unable to devour some giant empanadas or quesitos (sigh), I did overhear several rave reviews. The menu may seem limited, but it really does have a nice variety of options! Enjoy them with a refreshing adult beverage like a mojito, Cuba libre, or sangria, all while listening and/or jamming out to the sounds of música Latina (some incredible artists are lined up by the way!). My tiny dancer and I sure did have fun while enjoying this opportunity to preview the upcoming menu.
While I will always be partial to the flavors of my Latin culture, I would still save room for all of the other featured global flavors throughout the park. Don’t forget to grab the pocket-sized event guide to mark off everything you try. Enjoy this event with park admission or for as many weekends as you’d like with your annual pass. Plan out your gastronomical visit by viewing the full lineup here.
