Interested in tasting some authentic Latin food while enjoying music from renowned Latin artists? Then you don’t want to miss out on SeaWorld’s Viva La Música Festival! This year, the festival runs on Saturdays, April 16 & 23, and May 7 & 14. Here’s a sampling of what awaits you and your family!
Viva La Música is an annual celebration of Latin music and food. We’ve enjoyed sharing this event with you in the past and this year is no exception. SeaWorld kicked off this year’s festivities with Puerto Rican salsa singer Jerry Rivera but if you missed out, don’t despair. Tomorrow, April 23 you can see the one and only Víctor Manuelle, who will perform “No Quería Engañarte” among other hits! This concert is included with your park admission! And if you really want an up-close look at the featured artist, you should consider the Floor Seating Package, which starts at $15.
While the music may be the centerpiece of the celebration for many, we dare say the wonderful selection of Latin delicacies is a close second! Those of Caribbean descent will be happy to hear that the menu includes typical food of our culture. SeaWorld’s Viva La Música has everything from piononos (sweet plantains stuffed with seasoned ground beef) to lechón asado (roasted pork) to even morcilla (blood sausage). Having grown up on these dishes, I can tell you that SeaWorld’s Executive Chef Héctor Colón really hit the mark.
If you have kids who are picky eaters you will be happy to hear that Viva La Música also features piragüas (shaved ice with tropical flavors). This is a wonderful, sweet, and refreshing option for the less adventurous members of your family. Additionally, arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) could be another safe bet for kids (as well as adults of course).
If you’re having a hard time picking between the variety of food options – such as sorullitos (fried polenta sticks) and the Puerto Rican tripleta (triple meat sandwich) – then you may want to consider the Food Sampler Package. For $25, you can try samplings from five different dishes and you can even get 15% off all food & drink purchases on the event pathway. Having personally tried quite a few of these dishes myself, I highly recommend this option so you can try a little bit of (almost!) everything.
For those that want to enhance the entire experience, SeaWorld offers the Food Sampler + Front Row Seating Package, starting at $45. Reserve your front row seat and enjoy all the benefits that come with the Food Sampler Package.
