Summer has officially arrived and with it comes a number of different options for family entertainment while the kids enjoy a break from school. SeaWorld Orlando offers plenty for families to consider as they choose how best to spend their summer vacations. Recently we were extended an invitation to preview some of the summer themed attractions and are more than happy to share with you details on two very special shows.
Generation Nature LIVE provides guests with an opportunity to learn about SeaWorld’s numerous animal conservation efforts via a roundtable discussion with representatives from SeaWorld’s animal rescue and rehabilitation program. These animal trainers regularly aid animals in distress by bringing them to SeaWorld to help them recover from injuries that are sometimes a result of man-made negligence. The trainers spoke of the dangers posed by fishing lines and balloons that are discarded and ultimately risk the lives of various animals. During the course of the show, we were also introduced to a number of these animals including a pelican and a bald eagle.
An up-close animal meet and greet directly followed the show. Here we had the opportunity to meet some of the animals featured in the show including the aforementioned bald eagle. Additionally, we got up close to a Tawny Frogmouth, a bird native to Australia and Tasmania that upon first glance bears a striking resemblance to an owl. While the Tawny Frogmouth is not an owl we did in fact encounter an owl who could be readily distinguished by its beak and its inability to change its line of sight without moving its entire head.
That leaves us to the main attraction of any SeaWorld visit, the show at Shamu stadium. During the summer, guests can partake in a nighttime spectacular dubbed Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night! The lighting in the stadium provides a stunning enhancement to the impressive achievements displayed by these orcas. The show’s conclusion is set against a backdrop of fireworks above the stadium that make an impressive ending to a summer day in the parks.
Actually there’s still a bit more! Before you exit the park you can dance the night away at Shamu’s Dance Party. A flurry of bubbles rained down on the guests that night and proved very popular with young kids.
SeaWorld is offering a new ticket offer for guests considering a visit this summer. Titled Your Day, Priced Your Way, this ticket offer allows guests to save $15 on a ticket valid on any day of the week. If weekdays are an option for your family then you can double your savings. The offer is only for US residents and tickets must be purchased on SeaWorld’s website or by calling (888) 800-5447.
Disclosure: We were provided complimentary park admission to facilitate this post. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
