My kids love to go on picnics and though we don’t do it as often as they would probably like, we do enjoy an occasional picnic in the park or even at home! Yes, you can have a fun picnic right in your own backyard, porch, or even in your living room – we’ve done all three! The kids don’t care so much where the picnic is held; they just love the idea of having a picnic on the floor and that we’re enjoying a meal together.
Since National Picnic Day is coming up on Saturday, April 23rd, it’s a great opportunity to pack a fun picnic meal and head to your favorite spot for a fun picnic with the kids! Our family picnics are never complicated – finger sandwiches, fruit, and other easy-to-eat finger food and snacks create a perfect meal for our family picnics. To be honest, sometimes we even purchase wings or fried chicken from the deli at our local supermarket and add that to our picnic basket! The important thing is to enjoy the experience of having a picnic as a family!
