Can you believe that Halloween is only TWO DAYS away? The holiday sure did sneak up on me and I found myself scrambling over the last weekend to be sure my kids had their Halloween costumes ready. I’m so thankful for online ordering and free shipping – with just a little research and a few clicks, we had ordered my daughter’s Cleopatra costume and my baby boy’s Spider-Man costume. They both arrived yesterday, so I couldn’t be happier!
For Halloween, we typically go trick-or-treating either around the neighborhood or in an organized event at local shopping centers. The kids enjoy seeing other kids’ costumes, the various Halloween decorations, and of course, receiving a few treats! We don’t normally decorate our own house, though I may start doing so next year as my daughter and I both love the colors of Halloween and the spooky fun of it all.
Another Halloween tradition that has caught on in our house is that I put together Halloween gift baskets for the kids each year with a few loved items they can use year-round. They love waking up on Halloween morning and receiving their gift baskets and I love giving them a little something to celebrate Halloween and remind them they are always in my thoughts!
