Growing up, I honestly don’t remember serving my mami breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day. We definitely showered her with love and gave her gifts, flowers, and such, but breakfast in bed is not something I remember doing. My kids on the other hand, love the idea of breakfast in bed and sometimes ask if they can make me breakfast, even when it’s not a special occasion. Since I know that many of you wish to do the same for your own loved one, here are a few ideas (that my kids have done) for making mom’s breakfast in bed a little extra special! And if you want more inspiration, check out Walmart.com for many ideas for celebrating Mother’s Day!
3 Ways to Make Mom’s Breakfast in Bed Extra Special This Mother’s Day
1. Add a handwritten note or poem
My kids love writing a little note, making cards, and in the case of my daughter, writing poems. It adds a sweet, personal touch to mom’s breakfast in bed. This doesn’t have to be reserved for kids only, though. You can write a handwritten note for your loved one too! Check out Walmart’s crafts area for materials and fun supplies to embellish your note!
2. Add a flower (either fresh or handmade)
Add a small flower to mom’s breakfast in bed tray to brighten her breakfast. It can be a fresh flower or handmade tissue flowers. Either will make a great accompaniment to mom’s special Mother’s Day breakfast!
3. Give her something to read
Let mom know she can have a little extra time in bed after eating her breakfast. Deliver a book, magazine, or anything she enjoys doing – as long as she can stay relaxing in bed! Walmart has a great variety of books and magazines, so be sure to check them out and see if there’s something mom may like! Trust me, it’ll certainly enhance her breakfast in bed experience!
Having a little me-time is probably the best gift as a mom. I know that it’s on my wish list each Mother’s Day. Try starting mom’s day with breakfast in bed and make it extra special with a few of these tips! She’s sure to love it!
