I love easy weeknight meals for my family. When I was working outside the home, most nights I wouldn’t walk through the door until after 6 pm, to then start cooking dinner. This is how I learned to cook fast, simple meals with little ingredients. One of my go-to meals has always been pasta. Not only do I love eating it, it’s also a quick meal to make!
During my visit to the Walmart headquarters earlier this summer, I learned that the Wild Oats Marketplace Organic product line (new to Walmart stores) offers a variety of organic pasta sauce for about the same price as other brands. Wild Oats Marketplace Organic offers many organic and natural products, but the pasta sauce was one of their products that got me excited the most since it’s a product I use on an almost-weekly basis. At $1.88 for a 25 oz. jar, the Wild Oats Marketplace Organic pasta sauce is the exact same price as some major brands’ pasta sauce and just a few cents more than others, so I feel good that I and others can get affordable organic pasta sauce, without paying a premium.
I was lucky to get a sneak peek of and actually taste a few products during my visit with Wild Oats representatives, including popcorn, tortilla chips with salsa, pretzels, and natural creamy peanut butter. The peanut butter is not organic, but is natural, with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Back at home, I was asked to try a few more products and create a recipe using Wild Oats Marketplace Organic or natural products. I knew it was the perfect opportunity to taste Wild Oats Marketplace Organic pasta sauce along with Wild Oats Marketplace Organic pasta to create a quick and easy weeknight meal using affordable organic products!
Parmesan Romano Grilled Chicken Spaghetti {Recipe}
Ingredients
- Chicken breasts
- Herbs and spices of your liking (for seasoning chicken)
- Water, about 6 quarts
- Salt
- Wild Oats Marketplace Organic Whole Wheat Spaghetti
- Wild Oats Marketplace Organic Parmesan Romano Pasta Sauce
- Olive oil
- Shredded Italian cheese mix (optional)
Directions
- Season or marinate chicken breasts to your liking using your favorite herbs and spices. You may want to use garlic powder, paprika, oregano, or any other seasonings you enjoy – try Wild Oats Marketplace Organic Spices! Set aside chicken.
- Bring water to boil in large pot. Add salt.
- Add spaghetti noodles to boiling water and cook according to package directions.
- While spaghetti cooks, grill chicken on either a stove-top grill pan or an indoor grill, such as a George Foreman grill. (If you prefer to use an outdoor grill, then you’ll probably need to grill your chicken first before cooking spaghetti.)
- Heat pasta sauce. You can do so in the microwave or on the stove-top in a medium pot on low-medium heat.
- Once spaghetti noodles are drained and returned to pot, I like to add a little olive oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
- Serve spaghetti noodles with pasta sauce, and slices of grilled chicken. For an added layer, sprinkle a little shredded cheese on top right as you serve. Your family will love!
