Halloween is such a fun holiday for kids that it’s hard not to get into the spirit along with them! I love the vibrant, bright colors associated with Halloween – it’s no longer just about orange and black – you now often catch purple and green keeping them company! Since Halloween can be so festive and spooky-fun, it’s a great time to put together a simple Halloween party for after-school. I have a fun Halloween snack mix recipe kids will love that you can serve at a Halloween party or send in for a classroom celebration. It’s really easy to make (your kids could make it by themselves!) and my kids enjoyed the fun Halloween treat to go along with the awesome Halloween decorations we picked up at our local Walmart. You’ll find a lot of great Halloween decorations, costumes, party supplies, and of course, candy, in the Walmart Halloween shop! Ready to see this kids’ Halloween snack mix recipe?
Kids’ Halloween Snack Mix Recipe – Great Halloween Party Snack Idea!
Ingredients
- Popcorn
- Franken Berry Cereal – The Monster Cereals are usually only found during Halloween season, so at $3.48 per family size box, it’s a great time to stock up before you can’t find them again!
- Boo Berry Cereal
- Count Chocula Cereal (I was unable to find this variety of Monster Cereals in my store, but if you can find it, feel free to add to your snack mix!)
- Brach’s S’mores Candy Corn, or any other candy corn variety you prefer
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, adding desired amounts of each. I suggest starting with a little popcorn, adding some cereals, then deciding if you need more of any ingredient, before finishing up with the candy corn.
- Cover bowl and shake well to mix ingredients together or hand-mix.
- Serve in small cups or goody bags for a fun Halloween party treat!
Even if it’s a simple Halloween party, a few Halloween decorations definitely add to the fun! Luckily, I found lots of great kid-friendly Halloween tableware in the Walmart Halloween section at the front of my store. Starting at just 97¢, I found Halloween napkins, plates, treat cups, goody bags, and more to help decorate for our Halloween party and serve our kids’ Halloween snack mix.
To round out our Halloween party, I picked up a bag of Totino’s Pepperoni Pizza Rolls and a couple of bottles of Sparkling ICE flavored water. At only $1 per bottle, I was able to grab a few flavors (Black Raspberry, Coconut Pineapple, and Cherry Limeade), all of which I knew the kids liked. As expected, they enjoyed sipping on their drinks through their Halloween straws and snacking on their Halloween snack mix at our not-so-spooky Halloween party!
