Apparently I write quite often about how busy I am with work and the home life.
So much so, that it attracted the attention of the folks at Edelman. They contacted me to try out the new Burger King Kid’s Meal and Apple Fries.

Unfortunately, the Apple Fries that I was sent went bad at the mailbox, since I didn’t know they had already been sent. Luckily, the Apple Fries are included in the Kid’s Meal, so we still got to try them with the BK Crown Card I received.
During one of our recent, “weekend warrior” shopping runs, I heard the inevitable grumble from the back seat.
“Mommy, I hungry.”
Man, every time I hear it, I feel negligent. I’m starving my kid. Yeah, I know, hardly, but still, when she’s willing to eat I won’t miss the opportunity.
So we did a quick hit and run through the drive thru and picked up the latest from BK. The monkey almost seemed confused. I’m thinking the mac and cheese threw her off, but to my delight, she ate it and apparently, liked it. The only short coming was the caramel packet. It’s a little tough for little hands to handle responsibly (some type of dipping cup would be nice, however small). But, the apple fries are handy and would even make for a quick snack.
I’ve got a VERY picky eater, so it may be worth a shot if you are on the run.
In fact, I’ll make it easy for two of you…I have 2 $10 BK crown cards to giveaway so you can try it yourself.

My 7 year old son’s favorite on-the-run meal is a tie between McDonald’s and Burger King. How is the winner determined? Easily! Whoever had the better toy advertised last. 😉

My daughter loves the Chicken fingers!!!! Also Chicken Fries!!!
Jeremy (Discovering Dad) says
My son is a very picky eater too. He will only eat McD’s french fries on the go.
Pam says
The kids seem to like the chicken mcnuggets meal. They aren’t into red meat too much, chicken is their favorite.

What a great treat for the kids —
Those chicken fingers are always their first choice!

My daughter’s appetite is a bit strange for a toddler. Amazingly, her favorite on-the-go meal is from Chic-Fil-A, but it’s not chicken nuggets or fries. She likes a side salad. Strange, but true. She’ll eat a salad and nothing else. What can I say? The little one likes fruit and vegetables.

If I have to make a drive-by snack and run, we usually get apple fries and chicken nuggets 🙂 My toddler loves it. We skip the caramel dip.

My sons are both picky eaters! They love McD’s McChicken sandwiches though! I would love to try the new apple fries at BK, I bet my kids would love them!

Yummmmm – BK fries are my favorite 🙂 We usually stop at McD’s though b/c there are more of them where I live (would make the extra trip to BK if I won the card, though!) and my kiddos get a Chicken Nugget Happy Meal w/ a 4 piece nugget & Apple Dippers. Sounds like BK would be just as yummmy ……..as I sneak fries in the front seat while I make my kids eat apples in the back 🙂

The kids seem to like the roast beef sandwich’s at Arby’s more than anything. I must admit, they really are pretty good and a seemingly healthier alternative to burgers.

Wow! I love everything BK… okay, maybe not the fish, but… Anyway, sounds handy and anything that makes life easier is always a win win. Thanks for sharing.

Favorite on the road food isn’t really food per se, hah! It’s the fruities gummi snacks from any company in any flavor. The kids love them.

My 1 yr old daughter’s fave is string cheese. She loves her some calcium! 🙂

My 2 year old’s favorite meal is Whataburger. The toys aren’t that great but she’s all about the food! She’ll eat the chicken fingers or burger as long as there is ketchup to dip them in. I blame it on the fact that I ate Whataburger 3 times a week when I was pregnant – she weighed 12 pounds when she was born. Whataburger might be a Texas thing, by the way!

We just usually go for the happy meal with cheeseburgers. I’d love to try those apple fries, they look like a fun alternative!

My son likes a plain cheeseburger, chocolate shake and the chicken fries. Recenlty I tried to order chicken fries at McDonalds and another time it was the onion rings. We are a BK family.
