My husband is a gadget lover. He loves gadgets that provide convenience, save him time, and sometimes, just fun gadgets that do cool things. I may not always understand the necessity for some gadgets he falls in love with, but I can appreciate his excitement. When I was asked to review the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band, I knew he’d be perfect for testing it out. The Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band is one of many Walmart Black Friday deals this year – you’ll find the Black Fitbit Flex Band on sale for $69 (a $30 savings!) during Walmart’s 8 pm Thanksgiving night sales event! (Only the black color Fitbit Flex Band will be on sale for Black Friday, though we received a different color.) Read on for details of the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band and my husband’s thoughts!
Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band Review
The Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band can be worn pretty much all the time and tracks your movements and sleep cycle. On a daily basis, it can track how many steps you walk each day, how many calories you burn, how much sleep you get, and it can even help you wake up with a silent alarm. Since the band is water resistant, it can be worn in the shower and outside during rain or snow. You can also set personal health goals and the Fitbit Flex Band will help you track them, providing updates on your progress. With a mobile app (iPhone and Android), you can easily see your progress and information; you can also access it on a computer and receive progress emails, like the one below.
Overall, my husband liked his Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band and its capabilities. Specifically, these were the features he was particularly impressed by and thought were useful:
- The accuracy of the step counting was impressive.
- The ability to tap the band during wear and see visual notification of your daily goal progress via the lights on the band – 5 lights, each signifying 20% of your goal has been met.
- Sleep pattern monitoring is useful for knowing your sleep habits and provides awareness as to why you may feel tired on nights you didn’t sleep very well.
- The mobile app is good for tracking progress on a daily and weekly basis and comparing one to another.
- App notifications are not intrusive and are helpful for knowing how much more is needed to meet your daily goal.
- The band vibrates and lights up when you have met your daily step goal, adding a fun and motivational element to the Fitbit Flex Band.
- Though the food plan functionality was not fully tested, it does seem useful for tracking weight goals and daily food consumption.
The Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band is on the Walmart Top 100 Gifts list this year, in addition to being a Black Friday deal. Walmart’s Top 100 Gifts list includes many toys, electronics, apparel, and housewares, all eligible for free home shipping through 12/17! So, even if you aren’t able to snag a black Fitbit Flex Band during Thursday night’s Black Friday deal, you can still purchase one on Walmart.com, knowing you’ll get free shipping to your home – pretty sweet!
Will the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Sleep Band be a present for your loved one this holiday season?
