Cooking with non-stick cookware has become pretty customary for me. I use non-stick pans to fry, sauté, and generally cook many of our meals. However, I was uninformed about the toxic fumes that are sometimes released with traditional non-stick coatings. That’s why I was intrigued when I learned about ceramic coated non-stick cookware during a visit to the Walmart headquarters earlier this summer. The makers of Green+Life cookware introduced us to their line of ceramic non-stick cookware and bakeware, which uses Thermolon technology. Since my visit to Walmart headquarters and seeing the Green+Life cookware in-person, I was offered the opportunity to review a couple of Green+Life cookware products and learn more about how ceramic non-stick cookware works.
GreenLife Healthy Ceramic Non-Stick Cookware & Bakeware Review
I received the GreenLife Ceramic Non-Stick Soft Grip 12″ Open Fry Pan ($24.98) and GreenLife Ceramic Non-Stick 9.5″ x 5″ Loaf Pan ($8.98) for review. Both use the Thermolon technology, which is heat resistant to high temperatures and conducts heat better than other non-stick coatings. This means that even with high heat, no toxic fumes will be released, plus the ceramic coating will not peel off. I noticed that the pan seemed to heat up pretty quickly and I rarely had to turn up the heat higher than medium, even when cooking food like sausage.
When cooking a breakfast omelet, I purposely did not use any oil or cooking spray and the omelet did not stick to the pan! In fact, the literature that comes with the pan states that though using oil is okay, you should use a minimal amount and should avoid using olive oil altogether. Other things to keep in mind are that metal utensils are not safe to use with GreenLife ceramic cookware, though plastic, rubber, and wooden utensils are perfectly fine. Additionally, I like that the fry pan is oven safe (up to 350 degrees) and it was super easy to clean. You’ll also be glad to know it’s dishwasher safe, though I didn’t personally test that out.
I’m looking forward to using the loaf pan to bake some bread or perhaps make a delicious meatloaf for the family. If the ceramic non-stick loaf pan works just as good as the ceramic non-stick fry pan, cleaning up after making meatloaf should be easier than ever before!
Have you ever tried ceramic non-stick cookware or bakeware before?

I bought 2 greenlife pans. Will never buy anymore. They are the hardest things to clean and things stick to them
Melanie Edwards says
Really? I have had no issues with food sticking and find they’re easy to clean! How strange!
STEVE says
I had same experience. Cooked eggs and egg white and they stick like crazy. i have not tried many other foods. They are also hard to clean according to manufacturer’s instructions.

I love my fry pans and will only buy green + life. I only wish they would sell the sets with just pans and don’t include the fry pans as I have already bought all the fry pans. I’m looking into buying the the oven wear now. all my pans are so easy to clean and the cooking in them is great.
Melanie Edwards says
Sandra, they’re great. Glad you like them as well!

I just purchased my first green life saute pan. Love it! Amazingly food does not stick, easy clean up. Will buy more pieces.
Melanie Edwards says
That’s great to hear!
Eddy says
Is it really safe to fry without cooking oils?????
Melanie Edwards says
Eddy, it seems like it should work, but I haven’t tried it myself. I have always used some oil, even if just a little.
Marjorie Kemp says
Are they processed using cadmium, lead or any toxic metals that can leach off into food?
Linda says
Marjorie, they contain no PFOA, no cadmium and no lead. They are available in Canada. I just bought one and found them in Walmart. Love the pan….nothing stuck to the pan…. 🙂
Marjorie Kemp says
Can they be sold in Canada
Sylvia says
My pens are over a year old and at first they were great. Lately my food sticks to the pan and I have difficulty cleaning the pan after usage. I do not recommend these pans.
Melanie Edwards says
Oh no, that’s too bad! Mine are still working just great.
Lillie says
I purchase my pan also over a year ago and have only cooked stir fries in it and now it sticks and is hard to clean, I feel that the makers should give a refund and a class action should be filled.
Les says
Bought the frying pan. Great for the first few uses then noticed the ceramic coating releasing from the pan and food sticking and staining. Always hand washed and plastic utensils. Paid 26.24. Got took
I give this product 0 stars. Green life should be ashamed of themselves. Wondering what I have ingested by this product.
Melanie Edwards says
Sorry to hear about your experience!
Tina says
Les, these pans say they have a lifetime warranty on the package. Maybe yours is defective. You should call them.
Lauren says
I just tried the loaf pan for a cream cheese banana bread and it was amazing! It came right out of the pan without any problems and cleaned up so easily. I am eager to try the other pots and pans in this collection. So far I give green life 10 stars!

That’s great to hear!

I was given the entire green + life cookware set as a birthday gift two or three years ago . I hardly ever use them as i prefer my calphalon. But whenever i do use them. They are pretty much impossible to get clean ! It’s absolutely ridiculous and the worst cookware I’ve ever used.
Melanie Edwards says
Mine are so easy to clean that it’s hard to believe you’re having such an issue! Bummer!
paula lanning says
My son bought me a set for christmas, HATE them, They stick, stain, have to soak them to get clean, Im with you Liz, WORST COOKWARE I EVER OWNED, I’m 63 and owen some good cookware, But I think the ones from dollar door is better than these, Gave them away, they didnt like them either.
Viv says
I have just bought the greenlife ceramic wok with glass cover 4 weeks ago. The cover shattered into pieces during cooking. I did not expect the quality to be so bad. I will never buy greenlife product anymore.
Paul H says
Bought about 2 months ago. I was looking for a pan to only do scrambled eggs. This pan worked great for 2 months. Now eggs are sticking and sticking hard. So I will take it back to Walmart and insist on a refund.
These pans are part of the scam system whereby they turn out enough of these and sell them at high enough price and they will make great money. Once all is found out that they don’t work, the company has moved onto other things with all your money.
Anyone promoting these as great is just full of it. Probably paid by company.
Melanie Edwards says
Sorry to hear that. Mine are still working great!
Patrick says
maybe you don’t cook often enough

I used my little omelet pan today for the first time. Was so pleased–no sticking, super easy to clean, best of all our breakast was great.

For the people having issues with this pan, I am wondering what you sprayed or cooked your food with? I read you can’t use cooking spray or olive oil and only clarified butter as regular butter has a high burn rate. I find if you follow the instructions there are no problems. Just wondering.
Ann says
I’m truly disappointed with my green life ceramic pan. Foods stick & impossible to clean. I will never buy any green life products again

GREEN+LIFE HEALTHY NON STICK CERAMIC FRYING PANS WITH THERMOLON
Can the Green+Life nonstick ceramic frying pan (THERMOLON) WITH RUBBER GRIP HANDLE BE USED IN THE OVEN AS WELL AS ON TOP OF THE STOVE? I HAVE READ THAT THEY CAN BE USED IN THE OVEN IF TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 120 DEGREES. I HAVE ALSO READ THAT THE FRYING PANS CAN BE USED IN THE OVEN IF THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 180 DEGREES. THEN, I READ AGAIN, THAT THE FRYING PANS CAN BE USED IN THE OVEN IF THE OVEN TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 350 DEGREES!! i am afraid to put my new GREEN+LIFE frying pan in the oven. I am concerned mostly about the RUBBER HANDLES. WON’T THE RUBBERIZED HANDLES BURN IN THE OVEN? CAN THE RUBBER HANDLES REALLY TOLERATE OVEN USE? IF SO…..what is the real maximum oven temperature for the GREEN+LIFE frying pans that have the rubberized handles? Does anyone really know?
dan says
Bought a skillet a few months ago. it sucks, can not even cook bacon without it sticking. I would give it a rating of one out of ten
alice says
the people with problems may be using gas heat. I believe this cookware is for electric. I have a small skillett and use it to reheat. I cook using cast iron.
Kedrik says
I liked these for a while. After a couple weeks I noticed that the ceramic was chipping off! We only used the plastic utincils they came with. I enjoyed coming wit it, this product just didn’t hold up though.
Tammy says
Kedrik,,what oil did you use and do you have a ´gas stove or electric stove´? cause these stoves differ when it comes to cooking.
Wendy Murray says
I have the same problem panwas good in the beginning few months later everything sticks and stains would not recommend at all they are also very heavy when handling and hard to clean definitely not worth the money
Wendy Murray says
I use electric heat still have a problem with the pans and food sticking very disappointed in this pan
William L. says
I recently bought a Green LIfe fry pan and one thing that stuck like glue in my old pan was sausage. The sausage did not stick at all in the new Green Life pan, and so far nothing else has either, and it cleans up easily.
Melanie Edwards says
So glad you’re liking it!
Mallory says
I bought my green life set 1 year ago this month. The first probably 9 months, I LOVED them!!! Highly recommended them to anyone. However, the last 3 months, my deep fry pan has been horrible. Everything sticks! Even if I use a oil or butter. The pots still work fine, but I will buy a different brand this time around.
