Remember when I shared that we were testing out a soil free indoor garden? It’s been a few weeks now and I’m happy to report that our garden is doing well and growing! Both the basil and dill we planted have sprouted and we’re waiting on the parsley to grow. I’m looking forward to the time I can use my fresh homegrown herbs to cook! Here’s a more detailed review of our experience with the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL indoor garden.
Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL Indoor Garden Review
Overall, I’m pleased with our Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL. I like that I can grow fresh herbs and vegetables right in my kitchen without the mess of soil. This type of soil-free indoor garden is perfect for people like me that are not very good at gardening. The Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL sells for $49.97 at Walmart and comes with a gourmet herb seed kit. It’s only five inches wide, so it will perfectly fit on your kitchen counter top or other small space! Using only water, nutrients, and air (no soil!), the AeroGarden 3SL can grow a variety of herbs, vegetables, and even flowers.
I have had some minor hiccups in using my AeroGarden 3SL, but am still hoping to get them resolved. One thing is that my indoor garden stopped bubbling. After trying what the customer service personnel suggested, it began to bubble again for a little bit, but eventually we noticed the motor wasn’t running at all. I have to say that the AeroGarden customer service folks were super friendly and helpful, though. Additionally, despite the bubbling not currently working for me, my herbs are still growing! I’ll admit I was pleasantly surprised about that. Hopefully, by calling customer service again, I’ll be able to resolve the problem altogether so that my herbs can continue growing properly.
If you’re looking for a holiday gift for gardening fans, home cooks, or kids with an interest in gardening, the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL is a good option. My kids have been loving watching the herbs grow and tracking their progress. It’s definitely been a fun experience so far with our soil-free indoor garden, one I’m sure your family will also enjoy!
What herbs or vegetables would you love to grow in your own Miracle-Gro AeroGarden 3SL indoor garden?

My aerogarden 3sl stopped bubbling after 2 days. I mess with the bubbler and it’ll start bubbling again for awhile but eventually stops. I found this page by googling “aerogarden stops bubbling”. I’m not sure why you still recommend it after it failed for you too? Seems like a common problem with this product!

Danny, my herbs are still growing despite the issue and I’m going to be contacting their customer service for help. Have you called them?

Mine stopped bubbling too, after a couple of days. What did they suggest you do to get it to bubble again?
Cat says
I’ve tried holding down the “light” button for a few sec but nothing happened…and I tried to push it on and off really quick to just turn the light off and nothing happened either. So disappointed 🙁

I was told to remove my seed pods and the water tray, drain it, and be sure that the hole on the bottom isn’t clogged. Hope that works for you!
Shayla says
How do you get it unclog? I’ve tried vinegar and it worked for a little while but now isn’t bubbling again. Someone suggested removing the bubbler but I’m not sure that’s possible with the little ones
Melanie Edwards says
You could try that or contacting the manufacturer for support to see what they suggest.

Had mine for 1 1/2 weeks and the bubbler stopped. Cost me over $21.00 to return as when I asked if they would send me a return label the answer was no. Will never, ever buy anything aerogarden again.

This thing should be sold in the toy department for $ 6.00
it’s a piece of junk. I received one as a Christmas gift, I started it and after 2 months only 1 pod grew anything. I ordered a new 3 pod pack, it’s now the middle of May and 2 of the 3 have sprouted. There may be 1/2 of a teaspoon of herbs, at this rate it will take years to get anything useful out of it. I think it’s going in the trash.

I like mine. A little loud but it works great. More basil than I know what to do with. the parsley is a little sparse, though. After 2 months my bubbler has quit working, too. But the base is FULL of roots and I don’t blame it. LOL.
I keep an AG7 in the garage to start seeds before taking them outside (tomatoes/peppers) and to grow butter lettuce.
My hint: order the bubbler stones on ebay. FAR cheaper, free shipping from most sellers.

If the bubblier stops bubbling but you can still hear the pump running and try cleaning out the connection hole in the bottom of the tank with a Que tip. There seems to be a flapper type valve that seals when you remove the tank and open when you reinstall it. Mine stopped working the 3rd day so I cleaned it, now I do that every week when I change the water

Thanks for the tips!
