Preparing your meals with a slow cooker can be a true time-saver and in many cases, a life-saver! Once I found out I could cook an entire meal (or most of it) without even being home, my life truly changed! Even on days when I am home, knowing I can set my slow cooker early in the morning and not have to tend to my food, stirring or watching over it, means I can get other things done and not worry about dinner. If you’re also a slow cooker fan, your slow cooking joy may be rewarded with a prize of $5,000! That’s an awesome prize for simply cooking (and sharing!) your family’s favorite slow cooker meal, don’t you think? Watch the video below to hear about the Ultimate Crock-Pot Crock-Star Contest and a quick Crock-Pot Smart-Pot review. Then, read on for the full details of both!

Crock-Pot 4-Quart Smart-Pot Review
The Crock-Pot 4-Quart Smart-Pot Slow Cooker I received and featured in the video is ideal for small families since it is smaller than other slow cookers in the Crock-Pot line. What I loved about the Crock-Pot Smart-Pot is that it is programmable, so you can set it to cook for a predesignated amount of time (4, 6, 8, or 10 hours) at either a low or high temperature. Even better is that once your cooking time is done, the Crock-Pot Smart-Pot will automatically shift to a Warm setting, keeping your food warm, without the worry that your food will burn! Another great feature is that the stoneware compartment is removable and dishwasher-safe, along with the lid.
So, what great recipe will you be entering into the Ultimate Crock-Pot Crock-Star Contest this Crocktober? I can’t wait to see what you come up with, #CrockStars! Be sure to let me know in the comments if you enter the contest so I can watch your video!
