It’s been a while, but I’m trying to get back into the habit of meal planning and sharing those meal plan ideas with you! I’ve been planning our meals regularly, but just haven’t been consistent in sharing our meal plans on here. However, meal planning continues to be beneficial for our family, especially for keeping us on track and within our food budget, so that we don’t overspend or eat out too much.
Per my cooking style, our daily meals continue to be easy, simple, and often quick. Simple meals are definitely my favorite! I also tend to always plan at least one day for leftovers and one day for ordering take-out; it’s a treat that we’ve built into our budget! Check out what’s for dinner at our house this week and use it as a sample weekly meal plan to inspire your own! Plus, be sure to read to the bottom for more menu planning ideas and tips!
What’s for Dinner? Sample Weekly Meal Plan
- Monday: Carne molida (stewed ground beef) and arroz con maiz (yellow rice with corn)

- Thursday: Pollo guisado (stewed chicken) and white rice
- Friday: Leftovers
- Saturday: Pizza night
- Sunday: Baked BBQ chicken, macaroni pie, and steamed vegetables
