Every few weeks I vow to start a new daily schedule that will allow me time to fit in exercise. Alas, with two kids to drop off and pick up at different schools, only 2 1/2 hours of kid-free work time, and various other errands and daily responsibilities, working out inevitability never happens. I know. It’s terrible of me. I promise, though, it’s something that I’m working on making happen, even if it’s just for 15 minutes a day.
Something that may surprise you (or not, given what I’ve just described) is that I do not own fitness wear – until now. I know many women wear fitness leggings and shirts, even around the house or to run errands, but I’ve never been one to wear fitness attire unless I’m working out. That’s why I was curious to see what fitness wear I could find at my local Walmart that may double as workout clothes and clothes I could wear the rest of the day as I pick up the kids from school and run minor errands. Check out a few pieces I found that I think will work great for just that purpose!
From Workout to Errands: Practical Fitness Wear for Busy Moms
Though I was hoping to find some long-sleeve shirts (there’s been a surprising cold-spell here in Florida the past couple of weeks), my Walmart only had tanks and short-sleeve shirts in their women’s activewear section. However, they did have a few pull-over jackets, so I chose the Danskin Now 1/4 Zip Jacket for $9.86. To wear underneath it, I chose a Fashion Tank with Built-In Bra ($9.96) and coordinating Danskin Now Straight Leg Pant ($12.96).
Together, I feel good that this is an outfit I can wear for a quick workout, yet will also work for running to the store, picking up the kids from school, and continuing about my day without the need for a change of clothes. Plus, the fact that all three pieces have moisture wicking helps with that! Hopefully my new fitness wear will even help me to make sure I make the time for exercise each day – if I’m already wearing it, it might encourage me to get moving, right?
Do you wear fitness wear outside the home? What are some of your favorite pieces?
