Summer in Florida is extremely hot and humid. It is not uncommon for you to step outside your door at 8 in the morning and find yourself sweating a bit due to the 80+ weather that is only going to rise into the 90s later in the day. Hot is what it’s all about. Well, hot and daily rain. With that kind of summer weather, you really want to dress comfortably. That’s why there’s a joke that Floridians wear flip flops everywhere. (Not true for me, but you can see why it may be for many.)
When thinking about summer style, I want comfortable, light clothes, which I can easily wear all summer long…and maybe beyond! I was glad to see various options at my local Walmart – from maxi dresses and flowing skirts to lots of shorts and tanks. Check out this comfortable summer outfit I put together with a few pieces I saw in the Walmart Ad!
As I browsed the summer clothes in the Walmart Ad, I spotted a variety of Faded Glory shorts for $12.94 and decided to build my outfit around a pair. I also saw tanks and essential v-neck tees and figured I could layer the two with the shorts for a comfortable, yet cute look. When I went shopping in my local store, I actually found a skort that I liked better than the shorts! It screamed summer to me with its white color and light, breezy look. To keep with the summer theme, I wanted bright colors for my tank and tee. I found a perfectly bright yellow tank and a light blue striped tee that seemed like the sunshine and ocean to me, so I paired them with my white skort.
Since I already had tan wedge sandals at home and coordinating accessories, I knew my new skort, tee, and tank, would work out well for a day out with the family or even a casual day date with my husband. The great thing is that I can use the tank and tee separately or together. Plus, I can use either with jeans or denim shorts for a different look. Really, I can use any of the three pieces in different ways, depending on what I pair with each.
