I have seen all these scams out there – even some listed on careerbuilder or monster as job opportunities. I think I even answered one for the check cashing deal, but once I got the full info emailed to me, I noticed it just didn’t seem right. It’s incredible that people can take advantage of others so easily. But, unfortunately, it’s true. My brother was recently online looking for a job and asked me to evaluate the authenticity of a job website he was interested in. It looked totally suspect to me (you had to pay them money and they would help shop your application around to companies). I told him not to do it because it sounded like a scam. It’s amazing how dangerous the Internet can be – even when you’re looking for jobs!
